CHILLI CACAO ESPRESSO MARTINI

Because chocolate, chilli and coffee belong together.

Ah, the espresso martini.  This popular and much loved cocktail is a staple on every bar menu across Australia.  But why wait to get one at your local watering hole, when you can easily make one at home?  Better yet, why not put a spicy spin on it…?

Introducing the “Chilli Cacao Espresso Martini” thoughtfully whipped up for us by local Melbourne cocktail company “Julep Cocktails”.  This cocktail uses only Australian ingredients and is a robust combination of sweet, spice, and everything nice. A chocolatey spin on a classic that will leave your heart (and mouth) burning for more!

Makes 2 servings.


YOU WILL NEED:

METHOD

  1. Add 2 Tbs of Super Spiced Cacao to a heat-proof vessel.
  2. Pour over ⅔ cup of boiling water & stir until dissolved. Strain.
  3. Chill the mixture until ready to use.

COCKTAIL RECIPE

  1. Muddle 1 bird's eye chilli into a cocktail shaker (optional! This is for the spice fanatics)
  2. Measure out equal parts of the Super Spiced Cacao mixture, Mr Black Coffee Liqueur, Cape Grim 666 Wattleseed & Coffee Vodka and Espresso. Add into the cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  4. Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds.
  5. Fine strain into 2 chilled martini glasses.
  6. Garnish with coffee beans and chilli for some extra fire!
